Publication Ethics

AI and Wisdom is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. We treat every stage of the publishing workflow, from submission to indexing, as a shared responsibility among authors, editors, reviewers, and the editorial office.

Manuscripts are evaluated solely on their scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope. Decisions are independent of the authors' identity, affiliation, or institutional standing. Suspected misconduct (such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or redundant publication) is investigated in line with established best practice and resolved through a transparent, documented process.

• Original, unpublished work that is not under review elsewhere.
• Transparent attribution of ideas, methods, and prior literature.
• Documented approval for any human-participant research, where applicable.
• Cooperative response to post-publication discussion, corrections, or retractions.

Peer Review Integrity

Our peer review process is designed to be fair, timely, and constructive. Each submission is screened by the editorial team, assigned to independent reviewers with relevant expertise, and evaluated against criteria of methodological soundness, novelty, and significance.

Reviewers remain anonymous to authors by default. Comments are returned to authors in full, alongside an editorial decision. Authors are invited to respond point by point and resubmit, where appropriate.

• Manuscripts considered suitable for external review are evaluated by qualified reviewers selected on the basis of relevant expertise.
• Clear, respectful, and evidence-based reviewer guidance.
• Confidential handling of unpublished material throughout.

Authorship & Contributions

Authorship recognises individuals who made a substantial contribution to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the work, and who are accountable for its content. All listed authors must approve the final manuscript and agree to its submission.

Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria, including technical assistance, language editing, or general supervision, should be acknowledged in the manuscript. Disputes about authorship are referred back to the corresponding author and resolved before further processing.

• Substantial contribution to the work reported.
• Drafting or critical revision for intellectual content.
• Final approval of the version to be published.

Conflicts of Interest

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any interests — financial, institutional, or personal — that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the work. Disclosure enables editorial assessment and protects the integrity of the published record.

Where a conflict exists, the editorial office may reassign review, decline the submission, or publish the disclosure alongside the article. Undisclosed conflicts discovered after publication will be corrected or retracted in line with the journal's correction policy.

• Funding sources and sponsored engagements.
• Personal relationships or institutional affiliations that could bias review.
• Patent applications, consultancy, or equity related to the work.

AI Assisted Writing Policy

We support the responsible and transparent use of AI-assisted tools in research and writing. AI tools may be used to improve language, generate code, or assist with analysis, but they cannot replace authorship responsibility.

Authors remain accountable for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their manuscript. AI tools must not be cited as authors. Submissions that rely on AI tools in substantive ways are expected to disclose that use in a Methods or Acknowledgements section.

• AI tools do not meet the criteria for authorship.
• Authors disclose AI use when it materially shaped the work.
• Authors verify all AI-assisted content for accuracy and plagiarism.
• Sensitive or identifying data is not entered into third-party AI services without safeguards.

Data & Transparency

We encourage open and reproducible research. Authors are asked to make underlying data, code, and analytic materials available wherever possible, subject to ethical and legal constraints on participant privacy.

Where data cannot be shared publicly, authors should describe the conditions of access and provide a reasonable path to verification. Statistical analyses, model specifications, and experimental protocols should be reported in sufficient detail to permit replication.

• Detailed methods and analytic steps are described in the manuscript.
• Data, code, and materials are made available via a recognised repository where feasible.
• Limitations, statistical uncertainty, and known errors are disclosed.

Originality & Plagiarism

Submissions must be original and must not have been published elsewhere or be under review elsewhere. Plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and inappropriate text recycling are prohibited.

Authors must disclose closely related manuscripts that are submitted or published elsewhere where relevant, and attribute all sources, ideas, and prior work appropriately.

Research Integrity

Research involving human participants, personal data, animals, or otherwise regulated activity must comply with applicable ethical and institutional requirements. Where relevant, manuscripts should report ethics approval, consent, or a justified exemption. Not every study requires review-board approval.

Corrections & Retractions

Material errors are corrected transparently after publication. Where findings are unreliable because of misconduct or major error, the journal may retract the article or issue an expression of concern, preserving the original scholarly record transparently where appropriate.

Complaints & Appeals

Authors may appeal an editorial decision when they identify a substantive error in the review or decision process. Complaints concerning editorial conduct or publication ethics are reviewed independently where a conflict exists. An appeal does not guarantee reversal of a decision.

Copyright & Licensing

AI and Wisdom publishes open access under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication. Readers may share and adapt the work with appropriate attribution.

Publication Fees

Submission Fee: None. Article Processing Charge (APC): None. AI and Wisdom does not currently charge authors to submit or publish. This policy may change in the future, and any change would be announced in advance.
